The Charlie Wilson Leadership Program is dedicated to providing robust support for leadership programming aimed at nurturing future community leaders. By offering students access to inspirational role models and essential skill-building opportunities, we strive to empower them to become effective leaders in their respective fields.
What We Support
The program initiatives are designed to enhance the educational experience and leadership capabilities of students. These initiatives include but are not limited to:
- Guest Speakers: Provide opportunities for leadership interaction with distinguished political, social, and industry leaders from the state or region to share their insights and experiences.
- Conferences and Lecture Series: Developing events focused on topics relevant to the political and economic development of the region, providing students with valuable learning and networking opportunities.
- Educational Programming: Supporting a variety of programs aimed at enhancing the leadership skills of students, preparing them to take on pivotal roles in their communities.
Funding
This program is supported by the Charlie Wilson Leadership Fund, a tribute to the legacy of the late Congressman Charlie Wilson. Established in 2013 by Jason Wilson and his family, this fund serves as a lasting memorial honoring the memory of Congressman Wilson by fostering leadership development at the Eastern campus of Ohio University.
