Resident Educator Program

Candidates can register for these courses during the Fall, Spring, or Summer term and can work on them at their own pace, but must complete each course in one academic semester (15 weeks). Because of the time commitment to complete the coursework while teaching, we recommend you take no more than 2 courses in the fall and spring, but can take more in the summer if your schedule allows.

You can complete the courses in any order. You must achieve a C+ or better in every course AND maintain a 3.0 GPA to earn the certificate of completion. The basic program is 12 credit hours (PCOE 5915, PCOE 5916, PCOE 5917, PCOE 5919).  We also include a 3 credit hour course to meet the reading requirement in our program (PCOE 5918).  Our program also offers a 3 credit hour phonics course which is only required for some licensure areas (AYA Language Arts and Intervention Specialists).
