Welcome to the vibrant community of the Housing and Residence Life (HRL) Alumni Network, where our commitment to fostering connections transcends the walls or our residence halls. We are thrilled to present the HRL Alumni Network, an initiative that brings together former Housing and Residence Life leaders and staff to create a dynamic space for connection, shared experiences, and personal and professional growth.

About the HRL Alumni Network

The HRL Alumni Network is an official affinity group proudly affiliated with the Ohio University Alumni Association. Here, we ensure that you stay connected with a wealth of events, updates, and opportunities.

Our online group serves as a hub for sharing memories from HRL alumni events, making announcements, keeping you informed about upcoming events, and reconnecting you with other Housing and Residence Life leaders from years gone by. Whether you served as a Resident Assistant, Hall Director, Security Aid, tRAC member, office assistant, Housing Ambassador, or another valued member of our staff, this network is tailor-made for you!

Additionally, multiple avenues exist for contributing financial support to enhance the current student and staff experience within OHO Housing and Residence Life. Four distinct funds have been established to bolster our student experience and professional development opportunities. Explore the list of funds and make a donation by clicking here:

  • The Residence Life Programming Fund is used to celebrate Housing and Residence Life student leaders as they develop inclusive and engaging communities where students thrive in their residential experience. Past programs that have been funded by this account include end of the year staff appreciation and recognition banquets.
  • The Residence Life Fund is for leadership and staff development. Development is at the core of our Housing and Residence Life program and this fund supports opportunities to build and strengthen leadership capacities for staff.
  • The Residence Life Graduate Assistant Professional Development Fund is to assist our graduate staff (Graduate Assistants/Graduate Resident Directors/Assistant Resident Directors) with costs incurred as it relates to attending conferences, webinars, purchasing books, etc. for their professional development. The Housing and Residence Life graduates have an immeasurable impact on our residential program, so this fund will continue to allow the department to invest back into additional professional development opportunities, expand their education, and better prepare them for their future aspirations.
  • The Brian Stephens Excellence Award recognizes the innovation and creativity of Brian Stephens whose vision and leadership were integral with advancing programs and services within Housing and Residence Life. In honor of Brian and his demonstrated excellence as a student leader, this award will continue his legacy as we recognize Housing and Residence Life student leaders who uphold our tradition of fostering creativity and innovation in the workplace that provides an enriching residential experience for current and future Bobcats.
