Admissions Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university or equivalent
  • Official Transcripts showing bachelor's degree GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Three letters of recommendation written by faculty or professionals who can speak about your abilities
  • Resume or Curriculum Vitae that describes your previous education, work, teaching, and experience
  • Personal Statement (approximately 1-2 pages) addressing personal and professional reasons for seeking the degree
  • English Proficiency: Please review information about Ohio University’s English Language Proficiency requirements.

We review all applications holistically so an applicant who does not perfectly meet all of the listed requirements may receive what’s called conditional admission. Conditional admission means that the applicant must remedy the shortcoming within a defined period of time or they must leave the program. Also, be aware that background checks are required as part of the journey to becoming a teacher.

  • Application Deadlines

The Online Intervention Specialist programs admit for summer and fall semesters.

For full consideration, please apply by the priority application deadline of:

April 1 for both summer and fall semesters

Students who intend to pursue the Patton College Teaching Fellows graduate assistantship, must apply to begin your studies during the summer semester (not fall).
