Accessibility Services

Learning Management System Technology Support

Blackboard and Canvas are Ohio University's online learning management systems, and you will use them to access your courses. If you need assistance getting started or have an issue using either LMS, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) can help you. 

The OIT Service Desk is available to assist you with antivirus software, email, and your OHIO ID and PID. If you have problems or questions, call the OIT Service Desk at 740.593.1222 or submit a request online. Please check OIT Help for current hours of service.

Career Network

As you look for employment, the Career Network offers Handshake to all Ohio University students and alumni. This platform provides students with a relevant feed of job and internship opportunities, as well as resources specifically matching their interests.

Counseling and Psychological Services

Busy students are often under a lot of stress. Counseling and Psychological Services provides resources to help you handle the stress of finding the work/life/school balance. You can complete their self-help assessments, or talk to a 24/7 Crisis Intervention Service if you need to speak with a counselor immediately. Please call your local police department or go to your local emergency room if you need immediate in-person assistance. Libraries

Through Ohio University Libraries, online students can access e-books, printed books, research guides, and more. Contact library staff(opens in a new window) by phone, email, or instant message, or reach out to your academic program's subject librarian(opens in a new window) for help finding materials or other library research questions.

Ombudsperson

The Office of the Ombudsperson is a confidential service open to all students, employees, alumni, parents, and community members at Ohio University. The overarching mission of the Office of the Ombudsperson is twofold: to ensure that every member of the University community receives equitable and fair treatment and due process, and to support and facilitate a positive working and learning environment.

Technology Support

The Office of Information Technology has a service desk available to assist you with accessing Blackboard or Canvas, antivirus software, email, and your OHIO ID and PID.

Tutoring and Writing Services

eCampus students have access to two types of tutoring. The first is a free online tutoring and writing service, which is available 24/7. Students may receive up to eight hours of tutoring and assistance each semester. A 24-hour drop-off essay review service is also available to help you polish your papers, including thesis development and review of punctuation and citations.  Read more about the tutoring options available to eCampus students.

Veterans and Military Student Services Center

The purpose of Ohio University’s Veterans and Military Student Services Center is to provide, facilitate, and coordinate programs and services (including educational benefits) as effectively as possible for you and your family members. The center’s staff help you make a successful transition to the Ohio University community and support you through your academic career.
