Alexa Hoynacke
Expected Graduation: May 2018
Hometown: Lyndhurst, Ohio
From the start, Alexa fell in love with the welcoming, homey feeling of Ohio University’s beautiful campus. Originally she came in as a mechanical engineer; however, after learning more about industrial and systems engineering, she chose to switch and focus on supply chain and manufacturing.
Outside of class, Alexa stays busy by being involved in various groups on campus such as the Society for Women Engineers, Robe Leadership Seminar, Phi Sigma Pi Honor Fraternity and Margaret Boyd Scholars Program. She has also had several campus jobs including being a research assistant for the Motor Control Lab, a supervisor with Outdoor Pursuits, an engineering learning community leader and orientation leader.
This past summer, Alexa had the amazing opportunity to work for Eaton Corporation in their Aerospace Sector. Alexa worked with main engine fuel pumps for large airplanes such as Boeing 777s. She plans to continue her career with Eaton and hopes to apply for its Early Leadership Development Program following graduation.
Alexa chooses to spend her free time rock-climbing, backpacking, kayaking and exploring the beautiful Athens area.
