Mira Cooper
Expected Graduation: April 2017
Hometown: Athens, Ohio
After touring many other colleges, Mira realized that she kept comparing each one to the happy, green campus right in her own backyard. She couldn’t imagine going to a university where trees were a rarity and you had to drive more than 15 miles to get to a hiking trail. Ohio University was a perfect choice, and she’s very glad she chose it.
When she isn’t in class or being an Engineering Ambassador, Mira is involved in clubs like the Society of Women Engineers. She spent the summer working as an intern at the City of Athens Drinking Water Treatment Plant, and during the school year she’ll be working for Ohio University’s Office of Sustainability. Her goal is to end up working in a field relating to environmental conservation or water distribution after graduation.
For fun, she likes to make crafts and DIY projects with her Pinterest-loving best friends, Brooke and Becca. She also likes to watch historical docu-drama TV shows with her roommate, Wesley. As a group, they like to make jokes about being the most “grandparent-like” social circle they know.
