Jordyn Koerper
Jordyn is a senior civil engineering student from Ironton Ohio. Once she got on campus and began meeting her peers, she realized this was the place for her. As well as getting her engineering degree she is getting a certificate in construction management, and environmental studies. She decided she wanted to pursue engineering when taking Project Lead The Way courses in high school. Jordyn hopes to use her degree to make a positive impact on the earth and the people around her.
While at Ohio University she has worked as a research assistant for Dr. Guy Riefler on his ongoing Covid Wastewater project, club president of Habitat for Humanity, as well as an Engineering Ambassador. Jordyn has interned with Burgess & Niple where she was involved in various projects. Her main focus was on the WVDOT project, where she surveyed roads of high crash rates to gather data and analyze how those accidents could have been prevented. She also interned for Strand Associates, where she accepted a full-time position as a municipal engineer starting the summer of 2024.
In her free time Jordyn’s favorite activity is spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys design and started her own small business during Covid where she crafted wire-wrapped rings and sold them at a local market. She loves being outside, visiting new places and meeting new people.
