Confidential Shredding Updates

In August and September, we were working through the transition of vendors for confidential shredding services. Subsequently, we have failed to come to terms on a contract with the new vendor and will not be moving forward with them and will instead be awarding the contract to our existing vendor, Shred-it. 

Important information regarding our services with Shred-it:

• We intend to restart recurring service schedules with Shred-it effective in January
• We intend to re-establish the service model of "permanent bin placement requires recurring service"
• Existing services will remain the same
  • On-demand/Purge Services
  • Shred-it will NOT be providing destruction services for digital media (computers, phones, USBs, CDs, etc). For this service, please consult our University policies and standards for securely destroying data and contact OIT for questions related to secure digital media destruction.
• The purchasing website will be updated in the coming weeks with a Confidential Shredding section that will include:
  • Service overview
  • Cost projection spreadsheet
  • Service request process and form
