To be a global leader in preparing health professionals and scholars who are equipped to address complex health challenges and promote well-being across local and global communities.
Objectives
- Expand and enrich opportunities and outcomes related to global health community-building, education, research, and outreach/service
- Prepare students with the skills, cultural humility, and interdisciplinary knowledge needed to work effectively with diverse and underserved populations in global and local contexts
- Promote community-based approaches that prioritize preventive care, population health, and sustainable community impact
- Embrace and support local health initiatives as critical components of global health engagement and learning
- Encourage interdisciplinary research that explores the intersections of sociocultural, environmental, and structural determinants of health in global contexts
- Provide foundational experiences, mentorship, and opportunities for students pursuing careers in global health
- Engage faculty in global health scholarship and service
- Promote learning and information exchange regarding global health
