Securian Life Offers Voluntary Coverage

In July, 2018, the University transitioned its life insurance policies to Securian Financial. All current benefits for faculty and staff remain in place. 

As part of the transition, Securian Financial is providing faculty and staff the opportunity to elect additional Voluntary Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance coverage. AD&D insurance protects you and your loved ones from financial loss if an insured's death or dismemberment is caused by a covered accident – it's valuable coverage to have in addition to the life insurance you already have in place through your employment with the University.

During a special enrollment period, October 1-12, 2018, you will have the opportunity to elect Voluntary AD&D coverage for yourself and your family without answering any health questions. Securian Financial will mail an enrollment packet to your home one week before the enrollment window opens describing the coverage available. If you elect this additional coverage, Securian Financial will bill you directly for the benefit.
