Why ISU: Being part of the International Students Union (ISU) means more than service to international students, It means belonging to a family, it also means building bridges across cultures, creating a sense of home away from home, and advocating for the needs of our diverse international student body. I believe in the power of community. As an international student, I’ve experienced both the excitement and the challenges that come with studying abroad. Why ISU: The International Student Union (ISU) at Ohio University is more than just a student organization; it’s a platform for advocacy, cultural exchange, and community building. As an international student, I have experienced the challenges of adjusting to a new academic system and environment, which has deepened my appreciation for ISU’s vital role in creating a supportive space for students like me.
I am committed to amplifying the voices of international students and leading efforts that promote academic success, professional development, and social integration. Equally important, I believe in reinforcing strong collaboration between ISU, university leadership, and the broader Athens community to ensure that international perspectives are meaningfully included in decision-making processes.
ISU’s mission to connect cultures, foster understanding, and empower students resonates deeply with me. Through purposeful leadership and inclusive action, I aim to build on this mission and ensure that every international student feels seen, heard, and supported.
Fun Fact: One of the things I genuinely enjoy is uplifting others through kind words and a good sense of humor. I find great meaning in bringing light to serious moments, offering encouragement when it’s needed most, and creating spaces where people feel seen and valued. I believe that positive energy shared with sincerity has the power to heal, inspire, and transform the way we connect with one another.
