Data Analytics Major (B.S.)
Program Overview
The program in Data Analytics provides for a rigorous interdisciplinary education in data-centered methods toward a field of knowledge chosen by each student. The program consists of Core Classes, a set of General Requirements that relate to a Domain Requirement in the form of a student-selected Track, and a Capstone course. The capstone focuses on an integrated portfolio or novel research. Instruction is offered by faculty across the university community, giving the student a wide range of perspectives on data analytics.
Admissions Information
Freshman/First-Year Admission
Admission is open to all students admitted to Ohio University who have achieved MATH Placement Level 2 (student is eligible to take MATH 1350), so long as the maximum enrollment for the program (approximately 36 new students per year) has not been reached.
Change of Program Policy
Current Ohio University students who have achieved MATH Placement Level 2 are welcome to apply to the Data Analytics major. Please reach out to the program contact for more information.
External Transfer Admission

Opportunities Upon Graduation
The Data Analytics major signifies a student's readiness for either 1) a career in the public, private, or nonprofit sectors, or 2) graduate study.
