Zephazon ™, poster and brand standards manual

1990
Zefazone™ is a surgical antibiotic used in intrabdominal and pelvic surgery. This critical zone of inhibition is visually interpreted metaphorically in the mnemonic. The poster was designed for the Upjohn Company, a pharmaceutical manufacturing firm founded in 1886 by William E. Upjohn. The standards manual was created for consistency throughout all promotional material.
This logo and the standards manual were created by Russell Banks at the Alexander Associates, Inc., NY.
The poster for hospitals was designed by Tricia Hennessey, Kalamazoo, Michigan. It recognizes Zephazone™ as being effective within a zone of inhibition. Specifically used for inter-abdominal and pelvic surgery, Zephazone™ was designed to attack infections caused by any bile entering into that area of the surgery. The poster designs interpreted these conditions by visually articulating the message through image and typographic placement.
