University statement regarding an injury in the Athens area Friday

We have been notified by law enforcement that an individual was injured during an incident in the Athens area Friday night. After speaking with law enforcement in Athens, we have determined that the individual is not a student at Ohio University.

Although this person is not a student, we realize students may have been impacted by this incident. Any student in need of support is encouraged to reach out to the Dean of Students’ office or to Counseling and Psychological Services.
