OneDrive link sharing expiration policy to be updated beginning May 11
Beginning May 11, the behavior for links generated from departmental and personal OneDrive spaces using the "shared with anyone" permission setting is changing.
Links generated using the "Anyoneā€¯ setting (option 1 in the image below) will only be valid for 90 days (about 3 months). After 90 days, the link will expire, and an updated version will need to be generated. This change is being made to align with current security standards.
Note: Your file will not be removed, only the link will expire.
Expiration dates for shared links can be intentionally set for any period of time, up to the 90 day maximum.
Links shared with "People in Ohio University" (option 2), "People with existing access" (option 3), or "People you choose" (option 4), will not expire.
