OHIO students invited to explore inaugural Experiential Learning Fair

The inaugural Experiential Learning Fair will take place Sept. 6, from 12 – 5 p.m. in the Baker University Center and Walter International Education Center.

In collaboration with other campus and community partners, the Center for Advising, Career, and Experiential Learning is hosting the first Experiential Learning Fair to showcase the experiential learning opportunities that exist on the Ohio University campus, in our local community, and across the globe.

The Baker Ballroom will serve as a space for faculty, staff, students and partner organizations to showcase their experiences and engage students in conversation about possible future engagement. Student attendees are encouraged to ask questions, engage in conversation, participate in interactive displays, and think about the types of experiences in which they would like to engage.

Students can take a deeper dive into some of these unique experiences by participating in information sessions that will be held in Baker University Center Room 230 and Walter International Education Center Room 106.

The Experiential Learning Fair is for students wishing to learn more about how to get involved in experiential learning opportunities. The fair will bring awareness to and connect OHIO students with authentic, engaging and transformative experiences.

Research shows that students who participate in experiential learning are more likely to finish their degree and understand its value compared students who do not engage. Quality experiential learning opportunities lead to improved self-awareness, social responsibilities, and critical thinking.

OHIO students interested in volunteering or showcasing their experience can submit a form via Qualtrics.

To learn more about the Experiential Learning Fair, students, faculty, and staff can visit the ACE website or contact experiential.learning@ohio.edu.
