Keeping Bobcats Informed, Nov. 8, 2023

Parents and Families,
It was wonderful to see so many visitors on campus this past weekend for Dads Weekend! (opens in a new window) I hope you got to enjoy your student's favorite parts of campus and Athens, and I'm already looking forward to spring semester Family Weekends. If you attended Dads Weekend, we would love to get your feedback (opens in a new window) to make future Family Weekends even better.
As your student is finishing midterms and this beautiful fall weather begins to wind down, I want to remind you of ways they can take care of their physical and mental health. Well-Being and Recreation has a variety of group fitness classes (opens in a new window) and other options for staying active, and Counseling and Psychological Services has plenty of self-guided resources (opens in a new window) that are available now and during breaks and University closures.
Your student's well-being is a priority, and our resources are here for them. As always, reach out if your student can't find the support they're seeking.
Kathy A Fahl, MSW
Dean of Students
Group Fitness

Stay active as the cold weather approaches. Students can attend a free group fitness (opens in a new window) class like yoga or boxing, or join an F45 Training (opens in a new window). F45 combines elements of High-Intensity Interval Training, Circuit Training, and Functional Training. Whatever your student's work out preference is, Well-Being and Recreation is here to support their health.
Support hungry Bobcats

Over 500 students and staff are signed up as Cats' Cupboard (opens in a new window) food pantry users this year. As holidays approach we want to make sure the shelves are stocked for our OHIO community. Donate food or hygiene products if you are able to, or purchase something from the Cats' Cupboard wishlist. (opens in a new window) Donations can be dropped off on the second floor of Baker University Center.

The Division of Student Affairs, along with University partners, offers a wide range of graduate assistantships, which are designed to supplement classes with practical work experience. If your student is at the graduate level, tell them to check out open positions for the upcoming 2024-25 academic year. Any graduate student pursuing an on-campus graduate degree can apply to these positions.

Learn more about online self-paced workshops (opens in a new window), Togetherall (opens in a new window), WellTrack Boost (opens in a new window), and mindfulness.
