OHIO employees invited to participate in diabetes prevention program

All Ohio University employees are invited to join the Diabetes Institute for Prevent T2, a yearlong lifestyle change program.

Participants in the program will discover how to make changes that help prevent or delay type 2 diabetes, like getting outside to enjoy the things that make Ohio University special.

Live, online classes will start October 2024. Weekly sessions with a trained lifestyle coach help you lose weight, increase energy, sleep better and manage stress.

To get started, take this enrollment quiz.

For more information on the program, contact Hollie Goodell at goodellh@ohio.edu.  If you’re not sure about your risk, join Rufus to take the CDC risk test here.

Diabetes and Me class for individuals with type 2 diabetes

OHIO employees with type 2 diabetes are invited to enroll in the Diabetes and Me class. This four-session class will help participants gain the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to manage their diabetes.  Virtual classes are scheduled monthly. Contact Karen Bailey at baileyk@ohio.edu to learn more.

OHIO employees enrolled in the medical plan and their benefits-participating spouses/partners will have their enrollment fee covered by the Healthy OHIO wellness initiative and receive a $120 reward for completing either program.
