Ohio University Zanesville celebrates impressive enrollment growth

Ohio University Zanesville welcomed 139 new first-year students this fall, a 12 percent increase year-over-year. This brings the campus’s total enrollment to 729, marking 9 percent growth over fall 2023.

Notably, OHIO Zanesville saw a remarkable growth in students transferring from other institutions with 52 students transferring to OHIO Zanesville, underscoring the campus’s growing appeal to students seeking a welcoming academic community with robust opportunities.

The campus’s focus on addressing regional workforce demands has led to growth in popular programs like business and nursing. Over the past two years, students dedicated to their local communities have benefited from initiatives such as the OHIO Regional Promise. This program covers full tuition and mandatory fees for qualifying incoming first-year, full-time students on regional campuses who are Pell-eligible and have at least a 3.0 GPA.

Founded in 1946, Ohio University Zanesville was one of the first regional campuses established in the state. The campus serves east-central Ohio and the Muskingum Valley region offering a variety of academic programs including 14 bachelor’s and 5 associate degrees. The top programs (by enrollment) include nursing, education, social work, business, and psychology.
