Glenn Hazen, Reflection
When I visited Chubu University in the Spring and Summer of1989 I met many fine students and faculty. One in particular caught my attention. He was a young senior student. His hard working attitude, obvious intelligence and serious nature were an absolute delight. Knowing he would be an asset, the Ohio University Civil Engineering offered him a position in my research area. I didn’t realize at the time the profound influence he would have on both the civil engineering department and the Athens community. The young engineer? His name was Terusha Masada! He is currently a full professor at Ohio University. We often don’t notice the impact of choices made in life. The decision to lecture at Chubu University was one of those life changing moments for both myself and many others.
