Joe Higgins

Joe Higgins is an experienced journalist with expertise in editing, online and print reporting, sports writing, talent development, podcasting, audio production, feature writing, public relations, marketing, column writing and more in the journalism and entertainment worlds. 

Higgins is a graduate of Hocking College and Ohio University with degrees in Broadcast Engineering and Production, and Writing Informed by Science.

He worked with The Athens Messenger for 14 years, Ohio University, Athens County Prosecutor’s Office, WAIS/WSEO Radio, and currently teaches journalism at Tri-County Career Center and High School, and is an adjunct instructor for Ohio University.

Higgins’ career has spanned sports and news reporting, editing, regional management, public speaking, marketing, public address, coaching, radio show host, sports play-by-play and color commentary, and teaching.

Higgins enjoys basketball, helping others accomplish their goals and lives to try to make each day better than the last. He encourages mistakes with the caveat that we learn from them.
