Accessible Parking Information

We are committed to diversity and inclusiveness with the goal of providing a welcoming environment for faculty/staff, students and guests requiring accessible transportation and parking accommodations. 

State-issued accessibility permits are honored on campus following permit registration with the Transportation and Parking Services Office.  Students and faculty/staff should have an accompanying Ohio University permit when utilizing campus parking resources.  

Accessibility permits are valid within marked accessible spaces as well as all regular spaces within university parking lots.  Permits are not valid within metered or hourly facilities (fees apply), reserved parking spaces, curbs, roadways, grass, or within residential student storage parking lots (unless a specific permit has been issued to accompany the disability permit for these areas). 

Permit Registration

State-issued accessibility permits utilized by faculty/staff and students should be registered with Transportation and Parking Services prior to parking on campus.  Permit registration is performed to limit permit abuse on campus and protect accessible parking areas. Registration for accessibility permits is completed by emailing or faxing the Transportation & Parking Services Office. Please include a copy of the following items:

  • Accessibility Permit--2 permits may be registered per customer
  • Accessibility Permit Registration --permit registration form issued by Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

Accompanying Permit Requirements

Faculty/Staff and students should display a valid Ohio University permit in conjunction with their accessibility permit when parking on campus. Please contact our Customer Care Team with questions regarding parking permit options.

Accessible Transportation

CATCAB is a free door-to-door accessible transit service available to assist faculty/staff and students with permanent & limited mobility limitations.  Service registration is required to utilize this service. Accessible Transit Service (CATCAB)  Faculty/staff, students and university guests may also utilize daily campus parking shuttles (CATS) for free accessible transportation across campus.
