Cindy Voorhies
Cindy Voorhies, a Director within the Ohio University (OU) Small Business Development Center (SBDC), covers three counties: Muskingum, Guernsey, and Belmont counties. Cindy has over sixteen years’ experience counseling and assisting small business owners within the Ohio SBDC network. Cindy provides technical assistance and counseling in multiple areas including business planning, access to capital, market planning and financial analysis. Cindy has experience working with clients in many industries, including the oil and gas industry.
Voorhies obtained both her associate and bachelor’s degrees from Ohio University and Masters of Information Strategy, Systems & Technology (MISST) from Muskingum University. Cindy’s extensive experiences provided her with strong leadership skills and the ability to bridge the gap between business strategy and technology. Cindy achieved her degrees as an adult student while raising a family and helping with grandchildren. Cindy herself is also a small business owner. She is currently a co-owner of two Great Clips franchises in Zanesville, Ohio. Her portfolio also includes a retail/buy-sell-trade store in Byesville that she and her husband co-own, which carries musical instruments, firearms and sporting goods. She and her husband John, of 23 years, raised 7 children and now have 8 grandchildren. They reside on a small 50-acre farm in Noble County Ohio.
