Tuition is $594 per credit hour for Ohio residents and $613 per credit hour for non-residents. You'll need to complete 36 credits for a total tuition of $21,384 for Ohio residents and $22,068 for non-residents.

Online MPA

Tuition is $804 per credit hour for Ohio residents and $823 per credit hour for non-residents. You'll need to complete 36 credits for a total tuition of $28,944 for Ohio residents and $29,628 for non-residents.

Do the MPA programs offer scholarships?

Ohio University is proud of our active and veteran military members, alumni, and employees of corporate partners. New students who are a member of one of these groups and enrolling in one of the eligible online graduate programs for the 2023-2024 academic year are eligible for a 15% OHIO Online Incentive Scholarship.

There is a $50 application fee for the online, hybrid and Executive MPA programs. In addition, books and travel expenses are not included in tuition costs. Tuition for each program varies. Curriculum

How many credits are in the Executive or hybrid MPA program?

How many courses are in the online or hybrid MPA programs?

You'll complete 12 courses to earn the online Executive MPA degree and 12 courses to earn the online MPA. Find out more about Online MPA Courses, Executive MPA Courses.

Do the online Executive or hybrid MPA programs offer concentrations?

The Executive MPA program does not include any specializations. Meanwhile, the online MPA program offers three concentrations, including public leadership and management, nonprofit management and state and local government management. Students may also choose to complete the 9-credit, 100% online Project Management Certificate in place of a concentration. PM Certificate courses must be approved by the MPA director and PM program director.   

Do I have to pick a specialization in the online or hybrid MPA programs?

A concentration is required for the online MPA program, but not for the Executive MPA program.

Do the online MPA programs follow a cohort model?

Yes, the online Executive MPA program follows a cohort model. This allows you to build deeper relationships with peers and faculty, expanding your network, support system and career opportunities.

Are the online MPA programs available in a hybrid format?

Yes, the online Executive MPA program offers maximum flexibility and is available in a hybrid format. This means you may opt to take some courses on campus if you wish, and others online. The online MPA is offered completely online.

Do the online MPA programs have a residency component?

The Executive MPA program has a residency component. Throughout the program, face-to-face class meetings are held during residencies 20 Saturdays each year at Ohio University’s Dublin Campus, bringing all cohort members and faculty together in one location for collaboration.

How many field hours are required in the online MPA programs?

There are no field hours required to complete either the Executive or online MPA degree.
