Thank you for your interest in supporting the Mathematics Department. Our funding priorities include undergraduate scholarships to assist with enrollment, and graduate student support for travel and stipend enhancements.

  • Provides scholarship opportunities for undergraduate students majoring in Mathematics.

Uva McHarg Award Fund (opens in a new window)

  • Scholarship awarded to undergraduate students majoring in Mathematics, who plan to have a career in teaching.

John F. and Rita L. Wilson Scholarship in Mathematics (opens in a new window)

  • Scholarship awarded to students majoring in Mathematics Education.

Department of Mathematics General Scholarship Fund (opens in a new window)

  • Provides general scholarship support for students enrolled in the Mathematics Department.

Robert and Phyllis Butner Scholarship in Mathematics (opens in a new window)

  • Scholarship awarded to students majoring in Mathematics on the Athens Campus.

Carl H. Denbow Fund for Graduate Study in Mathematics (opens in a new window)

  • Provides scholarship support for graduate students in the Mathematics Department.

Kaushalya Vati Graduate Support Fund (opens in a new window)

  • Supports full-time international graduate students.

Faculty Support

John F. and Rita L. Wilson Professorship in Mathematics (opens in a new window)

  • Professorship awarded to an internal or external candidate who has demonstrated academic excellence and outstanding classroom teaching.

Surender K. Jain Lecture Series (opens in a new window)

  • Supports the creation of a colloquium lecture in the field of Algebra.
