Spring 2023 Application Process

The Central Region Humanities Center (CRHC) invites applications for grants of up to $1,000 to support Ohio University student internships or experiential learning experiences in Calendar Year 2023.

Eligibility: Student projects must relate in some fashion to Ohio and/or one of the larger geographic regions of which it is a part: e.g. the Ohio River Valley, the Great Lakes Region, the Old Northwest Territory, the Midwest. Persons representing area public humanities institutions (museums, libraries, cultural sites, etc.) and Ohio University faculty members in humanities or humanities-related disciplines are eligible to apply.*

Application Procedure: All applicants must submit the following materials: 1. A 600-700-word narrative that describes the project the student(s) would be working on and the nature of student engagement with the project; the time-line for student involvement in the project; the significance of the project to the humanities; the role a CRHC grant would play in launching, advancing, or completing student work on the project; and the name and contact information of the person who would be supervising student work on the project. 2. A proposed budget for use of CRHC funds in supporting student involvement in the project. The narrative and budget should be submitted as a single document via email attachment to jellison@ohio.edu by March 15, 2023. The CRHC Executive Committee will begin evaluating applications immediately following that deadline with the goal of informing recipients no later than March 31, 2023.
