Qiping Lu is a Ph.D. student in the Molecular and Cellular Biology program at Ohio University. She earned a BSci. from Capital Normal University at Beijing, China, which is also her hometown.

Before coming to United States, she spent a year at Tuebingen University in Germany identifying the mechanism for mitochondrial protein import. She currently is determining the role of zinc and mitochondrial autophagy in neuronal ischemia with Dr.Yang Li. She plans to complete her Ph.D. in 2018.
