Graduation
Graduation is a time to celebrate what you accomplished. However, graduation is not automatic. To graduate, all students - even those who do not plan to walk in the commencement ceremony - must apply online through the Office of the University Registrar. The graduation application will be available the first day of the term in your My OHIO Student Center.
The application must be submitted no later than the published graduation deadline for the semester in which graduation is planned.
There is an application fee for graduation. Your diploma will be mailed to you approximately eight weeks after graduation to the address supplied on your application.
If you haven't met the requirements to graduate, you will be notified. Students who are denied graduation must reapply by the posted deadline for the term in which they will complete their requirements. View current fee information and other graduation-related topics on the Graduation page. Fees are subject to change.
Commencement
Students may graduate at the end of any semester as long as they complete the requirements. Commencement ceremonies take place at the conclusion of fall and spring semesters.
There is not a Commencement exercise for students graduating at the conclusion of summer semester, but these students can opt to participate in the ceremony at the end of fall semester.
If you wish to walk in Commencement, you need to order your cap and gown and let the Commencement office know you plan to participate. You can find the information at www.ohio.edu/commencement.
