Ohio University’s CATS Light Night Shuttle Service, a free transportation option offered to students, faculty and staff, is piloting the expansion of its service hours to include pickup options on Sunday evenings between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m.
The pilot, which begins Sunday, Sept. 16, is part of the positive feedback that the University has received regarding ways to help increase safety within the campus community.
The CATS Late Night Shuttle continues to be a popular transportation choice within the campus community, as ridership has nearly quadrupled since Sept. 2017; OHIO’s Transportation and Parking Services team recently increased the service’s resources to best accommodate growing demand.
REQUESTING CATS LATE NIGHT SHUTTLE SERVICE
- Students, faculty and staff are can schedule CATS Late Night Shuttle transportation by calling or texting 740-593-4040; this phone number is also located on the back of all OHIO student ID cards.
- CATS Late Night also accepts more immediate, on-demand requests, and Transportation Services strives to accommodate all requests in a timely fashion. It is important to note that overall shuttle wait times are dependent upon existing ride demand and passenger loads at time of reservation request; however, requests for service are typically fulfilled within 10-15 minutes.
- Anyone requesting CATS Late Night Shuttle can track the status of their pickup in real-time from a safe location by downloading the DoubleMap app on their smart phone or visiting https://cats.doublemap.com/map.
