Dr. Milton Folson joined Ohio University as an Assistant Professor of Instruction in August 2023.  He teaches courses in the Department of Educational Studies, specifically the Educational Leadership program for aspiring school leaders.  Prior to joining OHIO, Dr. Folson served in multiple roles as a K-12 educator in public schools for 17 years, serving in the roles of teacher, assistant principal, principal, district curriculum director, and superintendent of schools.   

In addition to his service in public education, Dr. Folson is an active participant in various K-12 education organizations, including the Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators (OASSA), National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) and the Ohio Association of School and Business Officials (OASBO).  He has served on various committees within these organizations, supporting work around curriculum & instruction; human resources & personnel administration; diversity, equity & inclusion (DEI); and professional development.  Dr. Folson regularly presents at K-12 educational conferences on best practices for teachers and administrators. 

Dr. Folson earned his Ed.D. in Leadership from Creighton University; M.Ed. in Educational Administration from the University of Cincinnati; B.S. in Education from Ohio University; and B.S. in Business Administration from Franklin University.
