Positive Pedagogy for Sport Coaching Virtual Symposium

The Positive Pedagogy for Sport Coaching Virtual Symposium was a great success!

The Positive Pedagogy for Sport Coaching Virtual Symposium provided researchers and coaching practitioners with insight into the framework of ideas, concepts, and pedagogical features of Positive Pedagogy for Sport Coaching.

Coaching Education Session

What is Positive Pedagogy (PPed)?

Positive Pedagogy (PPed) was designed to encourage sport coaches to reflect deeply on the nature of learning and the role that questioning, experience, reflection, dialogue, and inquiry play in learning and improving in a sport for any athlete of any age and at any level. PPed aims to empower coaches to understand how they can shape athlete learning by offering a more flexible and adaptable approach that coaches can develop at their own pace in a gradual process of change. The ongoing development of PPed is an important contribution to the advancement of innovation in sport coaching and, in particular, athlete-centered approaches to coaching.

Event Schedule

The symposium featured a series of short, engaging case study presentations from an international group of sport coaching practitioners who have utilized PPed within their local coaching contexts. In each presentation, the presenter provided a rationale about why they adopted a PPed approach for the context in which they were working.
