Dr. Angela R Hillman is an associate professor of Exercise Physiology at Ohio University. She obtained her BS in Exercise Science and MS in Physical Education from the University of New Mexico and her PhD in Sports Science from the University of Hull (England).

Dr. Hillman’s research focus involves investigating nutrition for health, athletic performance, and recovery. Avenues for investigation revolve around using nutraceuticals (tart cherry and curcumin) to aid in health (metabolic syndrome, gut microbiome), recovery (pre- and post-exercise use), and performance (heat acclimation). Additionally, Dr Hillman is investigating human metabolism including manipulation of macronutrient intake pre- and post-exercise, the use of fasted vs. fed exercise, and appetite hormones.
