Expert Bio
Dr. Paul Shovlin is an assistant professor in English specializing in AI and Digital Rhetorics. He has served the University in a number capacities including: as Director of Composition for English, as a leader of Faculty Learning Communities on the implication of AI for higher educaton, as a Co-Chair for one of the President’s subcommittees for Dynamic Strategies, and a leader in the CTLA’s AI Course Redesign Institute.
Dr. Shovlin’s scholarship includes focuses on: writing program administration, GenAI, pulp writers of the 1930s, and an eclectic mix of creative writing pieces. He is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Moldova 96-98).
