Human Resources announces new online appointment scheduling tool


The University Human Resources Employee Service Center remains open during normal business hours for appointments, but will be closed to walk-ins.

OIT Welcomes Instructors for the Fall Semester


Fall 2020 will be a semester unlike any other. The Office of Information Technology has been busy preparing for the fall and is committed to ensuring that OHIO faculty have the technology and tools they need for a successful semester. We have compiled some of our most important updates, changes, and tools for the fall semester. 

Adobe Suspends Temporary Student Licenses


Adobe Creative Cloud is suspending their temporary license program that allowed students free access to their software package. These licenses will be suspended on August 15, 2020. Because of this, OIT will be removing Adobe Creative Cloud from VDI (Virtual Desktops).

Online Proctoring Survey Results


The Office of Information Technology recently conducted a survey to understand faculty and student feedback of OHIO’s preferred online proctoring tool, Proctortrack. Using this valuable feedback, OIT will continue working with the vendor to improve this service offering.

Retirement Account Vendor Change Announcement


Ohio University will make a change to its retirement plan vendor options for participants in the ARP, 403(b) and 457(b) plans effective November 1, 2020. The change will reduce the number of vendors available to employees but also result in reduced investment expenses and fees charged to participating faculty and staff.

Fall 2020 Testing Service Update


OHIO’s Testing Service provides exam proctoring, a consistent and accessible student experience, support for faculty using remote proctoring services, and scheduling, as well as providing accommodations for student accessibility testing. To support OHIO’s Fall 2020 Scenario recommendations, there have been several changes to the Testing Service.

My OHIO Student Center: New mobile-friendly interface


My OHIO Student Center, PeopleSoft's "self-service" module for students, will start supporting mobile devices on July 20, 2020. This will make it much easier for students to complete common tasks like checking their application status, viewing account balances, responding to financial aid offers, or registering for classes via their phones.

Airline Savings Program Development


Although the university community has been unable to travel these last several months, the Travel Office has been busy working with the Inter-University Counsel-Purchasing Group (IUC-PG) and CBT to develop an airline discount program. Details are still be worked out, but we will be rolling out new discount programs with several airlines over the next several months. This is just one example of our ability to collectively leverage travel spend among the Ohio universities to both secure better pricing from our suppliers and services for you! Stay tuned to future Business Matter editions for updates on this and many more exciting programs to come, as we work to build out a robust travel program for our university world travelers!
