End Dating of Function 42 - Deans & Provost as of 6/30/2020


The proposal to eliminate function 42-Deans and Provost was discussed at the RC-Strategy Group & the Accounting & Reporting Partner Group.  It was agreed that activity currently going through function 42 should be transitioned to function 40-Academic Support, starting now, so that function 42 can be end dated on 6/30/20.  It is not necessary to make any corrections to FY20 activity, but starting in FY21 you will no longer be able to charge to function 42.

New Courses Available in Personal Effectiveness and Relationship Building Certificates


Two courses are now available in the Personal Effectiveness Certificate: Stay out of Your Own Way and Crushing Imposter Syndrome and one in the Relationship Building Certificate: Gender 101.

Improving Excel Skills Available in the Peer-Learning Network


The Peer-Learning Network provides assistance with Microsoft Excel via our new Peer-Learning Network channel on Microsoft Teams.

Adobe extends free Creative Cloud access through July 6, 2020


Adobe recently notified us that they have extended their offer of free personal access to Creative Cloud applications for OHIO faculty, staff, and students through July 6, 2020. If you took advantage of this offer during spring semester, no additional action is needed. Your access will automatically be extended through July 6.

Login security improvements will affect older email/calendar apps


On May 11, 2020, OIT will begin phasing out support for Basic Authentication, an older, less secure way of accessing Office 365 services. When this change takes effect, some email and calendar clients and mobile apps will stop working with Office 365. To find out if this change will affect you and what you will need to do, see Next Steps.

Redesigned IT Security website unveils new resources for faculty, staff, researchers, and students


Last week, OIT's Information Security Office unveiled a top-to-bottom redo of the University's IT Security website that will make it significantly easier for OHIO faculty, staff, and students to find the resources they need to protect University and personal data.
