Transfer Requirements

Transfer opportunities in the Honors Tutorial College are limited due to the academic requirements of the College and the tutorial nature of instruction.

Students are not usually considered for transfer into the Honors Tutorial College beyond the first semester of their sophomore year.

Internal Transfer

Ohio University students interested in transferring to the Honors Tutorial College from another Ohio University College or Center should contact the HTC college office at 740.593.2723 or honors.college@ohio.edu. Please note that HTC programs of study are small, and transfer admission is dependent on program capacity. Should the program of study have capacity, an application form and interview are required for admission consideration.

External Transfer

Students interested in transferring to Ohio University and the Honors Tutorial College from another university must complete the transfer application process through Undergraduate Admissions and indicate intentions to study in a tutorial major on the application form. Space is limited, and external applicants will automatically be considered for the non-HTC version of their intended major should they not earn admission to HTC.
