Introducing Hurley Field and The Marching 110 Band Practice Facility.
Our new band practice field, a permanent home for the most exciting band in the land.

Project Vision

Despite a history of excellence that includes marching in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade three times, the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade, 40 NFL halftime shows, and international performances in Canada, Ireland, Italy and France, the Marching 110 has never had a dedicated practice facility on OHIO’s campus. Until now.

With a foundational gift of $1 million from Marching 110 alumni Shawn and Tracey Hurley, the new Marching 110 Band Practice Facility will be home to Hurley Field alongside numerous features that will be the best of its kind in the Mid-American Conference. It will include the installation of turf to support rehearsals in all conditions, the construction of a director’s tower for adequate viewing of formations, restroom facilities to be utilized by the nearby soccer field as well, and more.

OHIO’s goal is to complete Hurley Field in time for the Fall 2026 band season.

100 Years in the Making.

Anyone who has ever experienced the Marching 110 knows it is much more than a marching band. It is an unmatched tradition, a community of friends and fans, and a part of the OHIO experience that lasts far beyond four years on campus. The Campaign for Ohio University's Marching 110 Band Practice Facility will develop a dedicated, on-campus space for the historic and dedicated program.

Ohio University is seeking $3 million in private support to complete Phase A of this project that includes:

  • a full-sized, artificial turf-field
  • a forty-foot director's tower
  • a pavilion with restrooms for the band and other athletic competitions
  • a shaded patio with water services for shelter
  • a fence and lights for seasonal and evening practices

Cornerstone Donor opportunities are a significant part of this campaign, encouraging foundational donors to move the project toward construction as soon as possible through transformative gifts to name key facility components of Phase A.

  • Practice Field (Turf) – $1,000,000*
  • Covered Patio – $750,000
  • Pavilion – $500,000

*Thank you, Shawn and Tracey Hurley, for your gift to name the practice field.
