A message regarding the recent death of an Ohio University student

It is with great sadness that we confirm Allison Suhy, a first-year student at Ohio University majoring in Education, has passed away. The Dean of Students has been in contact with her family, and the University is providing support to students and employees affected by her loss. 

The University has not been informed about the circumstances of her death and encourage people to withhold speculation and rumors.

Dean of Students Jenny Hall-Jones would also like to share the following statement:
“My heart goes out to Allison’s family and friends. To lose someone you love is one of the most difficult things anyone can face, and doubly hard when you are away from home, family and support networks. We will continue to reach out to provide as much support as we can to help them through this difficult time.”
