iCUE Spotlight: Jan. 29-Feb. 4, 2018

Welcome to Week 3 of spring semester Bobcats! The warmth of spring may be far away, but check the Calendar of University Events (CUE) because there are lots of events planned that are sure to brighten your mood! Here are a few highlights:
College of Arts & Sciences Career & Networking Week (Jan. 29-Feb. 2, various Athens Campus locations): This series of professional development events is designed especially for students majoring in the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences. All activities are free and open to CAS students and alumni! Highlights include a daylong Professional Resume Review session on Wednesday and the Networking Reception for Students and Alumni on Thursday! Read more about the week
World Hijab Day (opens in a new window) (Thursday, Feb. 1, Baker University Center): This annual observance asks global citizens of all faiths to wear hijabs (head-coverings) and stand in solidarity with Muslim women worldwide, in a mission to create a more peaceful world with respect for all global citizens. You can stop by the tables on the first floor of Baker from 9 a.m. to noon and learn how to wear hijab (the first 150 will be loaned a hijab for the day) and attend a panel discussion from noon to 1 p.m. in the Multicultural Center Multipurpose Room. Co-sponsored by the Women's Center, International Student Union, Muslim Student Association, Office of Global Affairs and International Studies, and Center for International Studies.
Sibs Weekend (opens in a new window) (Feb. 2-4, various Athens Campus locations): This weekend, big and little sibs are invited to OHIO for a taste of college life! Cousins and other family members are welcome, too. With tons of special events scheduled around campus, this is the perfect bonding experience for OHIO students and their sibs/family members. Take a look at some of the awesome fun planned for the weekend:
- Stargazing and Night Hike (opens in a new window) (Friday, Feb. 2, 7-11 p.m., Charles J. Ping Student Recreation Center): You and your sibling are invited to an evening under the stars at The Ridges! Transportation, guide staff, and campfire snacks will be provided. $10/person. - University Program Council's Siblings WipeOUT (opens in a new window) (opens in a new window)(Saturday, Feb. 3, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., Charles J. Ping Student Recreation Center): UPC invites all OHIO students and their sibs to Ping for giant inflatables, cook-out food and tons of fun memories.
- Sibs Weekend Harry Potter Marathon (opens in a new window) (opens in a new window)(Saturday, Feb. 3, 12 p.m. - Sunday, Feb. 4, 12 a.m., Athena Cinema): Head to the Athena Cinema to take part in the magical marathon of the first four films in the Harry Potter series,featuring Harry Potter-themed concessions, trivia and costume contests!
- A Boogie wit da Hoodie & DJ Bandcamp Concert (opens in a new window) (opens in a new window)(Saturday, Feb. 3, 8 p.m., Memorial Auditorium): You DO NOT want to miss the Black Student Cultural Programming Board's Annual Sibs Weekend Hip-Hop Concert, featuring chart-topping artist A Boogie wit da Hoodie.
