CLDC to host spring Career and Internship Fair along with new Bobcat Breakfast
Ohio University’s Career and Leadership Development Center (CLDC) will host its spring Career and Internship Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, in the Baker University Center Ballroom. The bi-annual event takes place both fall and spring semesters and is free for students and alumni to attend.
This semester, however, the day will feature a new opportunity, the Bobcat Breakfast—a sit-down meal designed to allow students and alumni attending the Career and Internship Fair a chance to connect and network with many of the employers, including OHIO alumni, participating in the fair. On the morning of Feb. 14, students are welcome to eat breakfast and network from 8 until 9:30 a.m. in the 1804 Lounge in Baker University Center.
There are nearly 100 employers currently registered to attend this year’s Career and Internship Fair, according to Erika Peyton, assistant director for employer relations and marketing at the CLDC. Those employers represent career and internship opportunities in sales, communications, research, non-profits and more, Peyton said, with a growing number of employers registering each day.
In order for students to prepare for the fair, Peyton recommended scheduling an appointment with the CLDC for career coaching. She also suggested attending the CLDC’s “Prepare for the Fair” workshops that run Feb. 5-8.
Registration for the Career and Internship Fair is not required but is highly recommended. Students who register will receive a printed name tag with their name, major and year of study to wear throughout the day, as well as event updates and invites to specialized networking opportunities.
