‘Clubs Across Campus’ spotlights organization dedicated to gaming and giving (VIDEO)
Ohio University Communications and Marketing’s (UCM) latest installment in the “Clubs Across Campus” video series shines a spotlight on a student organization whose members are using their passion for gaming to make a difference in the lives of sick and injured children.
Ohio University Extra Life is OHIO’s chapter of the national Extra Life organization, which raises funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals throughout the United States and Canada by hosting 24-hour gaming events. Operating under the motto “Play games, heal kids,” Extra Life has raised more than $40 million for the network’s approximately 170 member hospitals over the past 10 years.
OHIO’s Extra Life chapter, whose efforts benefit Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, meets weekly for equal parts fun and fundraising. The organization is open to OHIO students interested in any form of gaming – from video games to chess and checkers.
In this “Clubs Across Campus” video, Ohio University Extra Life President JJ Burns shares information about the organization and its efforts. For more information on Ohio University Extra Life, visit https://orgsync.com/147778/chapter.
