On The Green Weekend returns this spring!
May 16-19, the OHIO Alumni Association’s 5th annual On The Green Weekend will celebrate OHIO’s academics and arts
It may be cold outside, but Ohio University is preparing to welcome back The OHIO Alumni Association’s annual spring homecoming, On The Green Weekend.
The 5th annual On The Green Weekend is May 16-19. It celebrates OHIO’s academics and arts. This year, you can attend signature events like Cruise-In At The Convo and “OH, I dO!”, and returning events like the popular Food Truck Festival.
This year, the Association has expanded tour offerings. Wednesday, May 16, you can travel to Lancaster to visit the birthplace of Civil War General William Tecumseh Sherman. The Sherman House, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, offers a glimpse into the Sherman family’s life and the State of Ohio’s role in the Civil War.
On The Green Weekend events are open to the entire OHIO community, including Athens residents, current students, faculty, staff and alumni returning to campus.

Here’s a taste of what’s in store for OTG 2018:
Wednesday, May 16: Attend the General Sherman in Lancaster tour.
Thursday, May 17: Experience the renowned Alumni College, when you can go back to class with expert OHIO faculty. Later, attend the official OTG kickoff with a Taste of Athens, where the Association brings you the best of Court Street restaurants.
Friday, May 18: Screen retro movies at the Athena Cinema during the Film Festival. View celestial wonders in the night sky over Athens at the Ohio University Observatory located on The Ridges.
Saturday, May 19: Get your blood pumping during the Athens CASA Superhero Dash or the 3:3 basketball tournament; take in Athens’ best eats at the Food Truck Festival; tour Athens’ three breweries or The Ridge’s historic Asylum; then, take in the OHIO-produced musical, “Next to Normal.”
