Interim Executive Vice President and Provost Elizabeth Sayrs and Executive Dean of Regional Higher Education Bill Willan have appointed Robert Klein, Ph.D., interim dean of Ohio University’s Eastern Campus effective July 1, 2018.

Dr. Klein currently serves as associate professor and interim associate dean of Ohio University’s Lancaster Campus and Pickerington Center. Previously, he served as the undergraduate chair of mathematics at the Athens Campus, where he focused on mathematics education and technology. He earned his doctorate in mathematics teacher education from The Ohio State University.

“Dr. Klein’s outstanding record of service to Ohio University gives me great confidence in his ability to lead the Eastern Campus,” Dr. Sayrs said. “In his more than 13 years at OHIO, Dr. Klein has shown a commitment to student success and learning, as well as a focus on community-building and inclusion, which are central to our institution’s mission. Dr. Willan and I look forward to working with him in this new capacity.”

Dr. Klein will serve a one-year appointment which will end June 30, 2019. He succeeds current Eastern Campus Dean Paul Abraham, Ph.D., who will return to the Lancaster Campus to reprise his role as associate dean.
