Counseling, Psychological Services available to assist students in person, by phone, online

With the addition of new staff over the past year, Ohio University Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) is better able to provide mental health services to those students who may be in need of them.

Students who want to meet in person with our staff can receive same-day services by coming to CPS on the third floor of Hudson Health Center between 9:45 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Monday through Friday. Counselors are also available to consult with students in the Living Learning Center on the Athens Campus from 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. In addition, students can talk to a counselor by phone seven days a week by calling CPS between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 a.m.

If you are aware of a student who is struggling and you are not sure how to help, CPS encourages you to discuss the situation with one of its professional staff by calling (740) 593-1616. All faculty, administrators and students are welcome to contact the office during normal business hours.

CPS has also introduced an online, self-directed app for students who want immediate help in dealing with feelings of depression or anxiety. WellTrack offers tutorials and mood checks to monitor and address these conditions, and it is easily accessible on a cell phone or computer with a student’s University email account.

CPS is committed to doing what it can to help Ohio University students succeed. For more information about CPS and the services it provides, click here.
