Today, University Communications and Marketing (UCM) is launching a new website that aggregates Ohio University’s footprint in Washington, D.C. The primary goal for the website is to showcase the depth and breadth of the University’s innovation in public policy, teaching, research, and involvement in a variety of partnerships and organizations.
Leading with recognition of the exemplary work of the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs, the site gives an overview of its role in addressing rural and state issues of national importance.
“Collaborating with the Voinovich School on this project over the last three months was necessary and invaluable,” said Renea Morris, chief marketing officer. “Laura Alloway, director of marketing and communications for the Voinovich School, in particular, made meaningful contributions to the structure and content, which influenced the outcome significantly.”
The launch of this site supports one of the University’s strategic pathways to build an engagement ecosystem and the priority to find new and powerful ways to talk about the University.
“The Voinovich School was happy to help President Nellis with his strategic priority in engagement and outreach by contributing to the creation of the OHIO in DC website. With the addition of the new site, we can continue to share how Ohio University and its Voinovich School is a best-in-class national model of engaged scholarship, working toward making an impact on the challenges facing our region, state and nation,” said Mark Weinberg, founding dean, Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs.
The site is housed in the University’s top level navigation under “About OHIO,” and demonstrates ways that our faculty, staff, students, and alumni are making significant contributions in the federal legislature and agencies as well as a wide variety of non-profit organizations and corporations.
