iCUE Spotlight: April 26-May 2, 2018

Hey there Bobcats! It's currently Week 15, and we're flying into Week 16 - can you believe it?! To stay in the loop, keep tabs on the CUE! The CUE, Ohio University's official Calendar of University Events, is the best way to help you keep track of it all. Remember, anyone with an OHIO ID can add events that are happening across all OHIO campuses. For more information about what's happening in the week ahead, read on:

Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion Candidate Open Forums (Thursday, April 26 and Friday, April 27, 1-2:15 p.m., Multicultural Center Multipurpose Room, Baker University Center 219): Ohio University is seeking its first-ever vice president for diversity and inclusion and the three finalists are visiting campus this week and each will meet the University community in an open forum. The first candidate was here Wednesday, but you have two more chances to hear from them directly. ASL interpretation will be provided, in person and via the online broadcast. If you are unable to attend in person, be sure to send your thoughts to the search committee co-chairs and let your voice be heard about this historic hire.

GRID Lab XR Showcase (Thursday, April 26, 4-6 p.m., GRID Lab, Scripps Hall second floor): Don't miss your chance to experience this year's best student immersive media productions during this GRID Lab open house. The featured projects include Student Expo-winning works.

#FinalsByAlden (April 26 - May 3, Alden Library and Glidden Hall): The end of the school year is quickly approaching and Alden Library is hosting various events dedicated to helping students limit the stress of finals (the spring semester examination period runs April 30-May 4). Here is a list of the remaining events to check out when you need a study break:

Women at Ohio University: 150 Years of Life and History (through May 5, Alden Library fifth floor): It's your last chance to see this amazing and free exhibit that launched in celebration of OHIO Founders Day! In the 150 years since Margaret Boyd enrolled as a freshman at Ohio University, women have been doing remarkable things at OHIO. This year, the University celebrates their accomplishments and contributions with a special exhibit in Alden Library. Photographs, scrapbooks, handbooks, diaries, biographies and clippings from Ohio University Archives tell the stories of OHIO female students, administrators and professors, the challenges they faced on campus, the fun they had and the milestones they created. Just a few of the trailblazers included in the exhibit are Boyd (the first woman to earn a bachelor of arts at Ohio University), Gladys Bailin (the first woman to receive the Distinguished Professor Award), and Dr. Francine Childs (the first tenured African American professor).

Graduation and Cap Decorating Party (Wednesday, May 2, 3-7 p.m., Walter International Education Center): Let the graduation celebration begin! All graduating students are invited to join International Student and Faculty Services for a fun afternoon of decorating graduation caps and eating cake and snacks! This Global Connections event is free - just bring your cap and get inspired.
