Healthy OHIO health screening dates announced for Athens campus

Healthy OHIO is an umbrella wellness program that houses two rewards programs: an online/mobile wellness platform called Virgin Pulse and the previously mentioned biometric health screenings.

Athens campus employees (and benefits-participating spouses/partners) have three convenient options for participating in a health screening this fall: WorkHealth Athens, Castrop Center (Sept. 4 – Nov. 30); Baker University Center, 2nd Floor Corridor (Oct. 3), or; submit a Physician Screening Form.

“While the health screening happens one time a year, eligible participants can engage with Virgin Pulse year-round,” said Jenn Bennett, director of WellWorks. “Engaging regularly can help shape healthy habits, making us happier and more productive.”

Bennett also explained that an additional benefit of this program is that eligible participants can earn up to $200 per year (up to $50 quarterly) when they use the online/mobile wellness platform.

Bennett said feedback from employees has revealed that wellness goals often revolve around sleep, exercise and accountability.

“We decided to enhance Healthy OHIO this year by giving eligible participants a Max Buzz™ activity tracker if they can demonstrate that access to a tracker would help them along their wellness journey,” she said.

A limited number of Max Buzz™ devices are available at no-cost to Virgin Pulse participants. A Max Buzz™ request form must be submitted to be considered for one of the trackers, which will be given away at random throughout the fall semester. More details about the Max Buzz™ program can be found online.

Regional campus screenings will occur in the Spring semester.
