University to host six fall active shooter preparedness trainings

The Emergency Programs Office and the Ohio University Police Department Department will host six ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate) training sessions for faculty/teaching assistants and staff this fall. 

The goals of the active shooter preparedness training is to encourage and promote this discussion and help participants be more prepared should an active shooter incident occur. Test your readiness, learn about options and gain confidence in your abilities to react by attending one of these sessions. Each class has a limit of 30 people. Here are the scheduled ALICE trainings:  

  • Sept. 19, 8:30 – 10 a.m. Baker Center 231
  • Sept. 21, 3 – 4:30 p.m. Baker Center 231       
  • Sept. 24, 10 – 11:30 a.m. Baker Center 231   
  • Oct. 2, 9 – 10:30 a.m. Baker Center 231  
  • Oct. 4, 1 – 2:30 p.m. Baker Center 231
  • Oct. 8, 2 – 3:30 p.m. Baker Center 231
