Bobcat Battalion invites community to 9/11 Stair Challenge Memorial

Ohio University's Army ROTC — the Bobcat Battalion — invites the campus and Athens communities to the fourth annual 9/11 Stair Challenge Memorial event on Tuesday, September 11 at Peden Stadium.

Participants will climb 2,074 steps to represent the 110 floors of the World Trade Center. The stairs give context to what the firefights and rescuers accomplished, as well as those who worked in the building.

Registration for the 9/11 Stair Challenge Memorial begins at 7 p.m. at Peden. The first 100 participants to arrive will receive a free T-shirt!

The Challenge begins at 7:30 p.m. and includes a brief ceremony.  Light refreshments will be served following the event.

Please join OHIO's Bobcat Battalion in honoring lives lost and heroism displayed during the events of 9/11. Participants are encouraged to run or walk 2,074 steps to symbolize the steps in the World Trade Center. Last year, approximately 200 people participated in the memorial event.
